Day 1
Morning: Breakfast at Inn on the Harbour. Spend a couple of hours at the Museum of Northern BC to explore exhibits representing thousands of years of local Indigenous history. Take a short walk to the Sunken Gardens, a landscaped park in a former WWII bunker.
Afternoon: Savor fresh local seafood at Fukasaku or Opa Sushi in Cow Bay. Take a stroll down to Rushbrook Trail. Enjoy a 2.4km round-trip walk that offers stunning views of the ocean and the spectacular setting at Seal Cove Salt Marsh recreation area.
Evening: Experience the flavors of the Mediterranean at locally owned Arabisk restaurant.
Day 2
Morning and Afternoon: Start your day with a take-out breakfast from the hotel before heading out for an exciting 7-hour bear or whale watching tour. A light lunch will be provided during the trip. Just remember to pre-order your breakfast the night before with the front desk and book your bear or whale watching tour in advance through Adventure Tours at their website, https://adventuretours.ca. Enjoy your adventure!
Evening: Enjoy your walk at the Rotary Waterfront Park. Wrap up your evening with a refreshing beer and wood-fired pizzas from Prince Rupert’s craft brewery, Wheelhouse Brewing restaurant. Live music is often played on weekends.
Day 3
Morning: After enjoying your breakfast, take a 20-minute drive to the North Pacific Cannery Museum in Port Edward where you will learn about the area’s rich fishing history. While you’re there, don’t miss out on trying the salmon chowder and freshly baked treats at Mama’s Messhouse Café.
Afternoon: You can grab a bike for free at the front desk of Inn on the Harbour and take a ride around downtown and Cow Bay where you’ll find charming local shops and beautiful parks. Don’t miss the Icehouse Gallery for some one-of-a-kind souvenirs and be sure to check out the Port Interpretive Centre to learn about Prince Rupert’s role as a key player in global trade.
Evening: After a long day, enjoy a delicious meal and refreshing drink at the waterfront Breakers Pub. With its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, you can savor exceptional food and beverages in a perfect setting.
